Sprint Mode · Supercavitation Profile
Lateral View · Vapor Cavity Envelope Shown · Reduced Wing Stubs Visible · Max 560 km/h
In supercavitation sprint mode, the vehicle morphs from delta wing to bullet profile. The large delta wings compress to elongated stubs flanking the body, significantly reducing cross-section without full retraction. Wings fold dorsally and ventrally against the hull, not laterally; both stubs remain visible above and below the hull centerline in lateral profile. The flat cavitating nose generates a vapor bubble that expands to envelop the body; water contact is reduced to the cavitating nose tip and the aft exhaust. Steering is achieved by reshaping the nose geometry and controlling cavity form through conformational changes. Sprint mode, conformational morphing, drilling operations, and communications all require active Sa pilot pairing with the vehicle's organic quantum computer.
Dual Computer Architecture
01
System I
Always Active · Independent Operation
Autonomous Vehicle AI
The vehicle operates independently as a living creature when no pilot is present: foraging, navigating, and maintaining itself without direction. Sentience is comparable to that of a dolphin or dog; sophisticated enough for self-directed behavior and environmental response, but insufficient for advanced technical operations. Vehicles form genuine emotional bonds with their Sa pilots over years of service. In autonomous mode the vehicle grazes, rests, and tends its biological systems; supercavitation, conformational sprint morphing, drilling, and communications functions are unavailable without a pilot.

System II
Requires Sa Pilot + Sensory Assist Organism Interface
Organic Quantum Computer
A quantum computational system grown within the vehicle body; fully dormant without a Sa pilot. Activation requires the pilot's sensory assist organism (the ComSa symbiont carried on the second appendage) to interface with the vehicle's equivalent organ. Once paired, the system unlocks all advanced functions: supercavitation sprint, delta-to-bullet conformational morphing, organic drilling operations, long-range communications, and full medical systems including therapeutic hypothermia. The quantum computer and pilot's sensory assist grow progressively attuned over years of service, deepening capability with the bond.
Sa propulsion vehicles are described in Book 1 as "the fullest and most sophisticated expression of Sa biological engineering." The emotional bond between a Sa pilot and their vehicle is treated as a living relationship. The organic quantum computer's dependence on pilot pairing is both a functional design constraint and a reflection of Sa philosophy: advanced capability is inseparable from conscious partnership.
Medical capability: the vehicle can regulate internal passenger temperature with precision sufficient for therapeutic hypothermia, a technique that slows neurological damage progression. Applied to KanSae in Book 1 following injury to preserve neurological function during transit.
